Chris Scarborough - Owner/Well COntrol SME

Chris has 28 years of hands- on experience in oil and gas. He began in 1998 as a roustabout for Noble Drilling working his way up to driller before leading the Reach Group as a performance coach.   It was during this time that the opportunity arose to work for Boots and Coots. This experience provided the opportunities to work on complex well control situations, providing a firm foundation for advanced well control decision making.

After 10 years in Well Control emergency response, Chris was hired at BP in 2011 as a well control specialist. While at BP, 

Chris was responsible for starting up the Global MPD team. He moved into the role of well control advisor to focus on reducing well control events and well control operations.

• Chaired API 16-C through the revision and publish of the third edition. 
• IOGP well expert committee, 
• Well control system subcommittee.
